Hampton Island Preserve, Riceboro, Georgia
The 4,000-acre island, with lakes and tracts of pines, live oaks and water oaks,
purchased in 2003 to be developed as a private club and second-home community.
Amenities include a wine program, an organic farm, four spas and a hunting lodge. Two
amphibious planes shuttling members to a 31-foot sport fishing boat reside in unique
hangars constructed with glulam trusses and beams supported by round timber pilings
blending well with the natural environment.
