Camp Aldersgate
Little Rock, Arkansas

The Commons Center at Camp Aldersgate lies at the center of a 120 acre oasis in the heart of Little Rock, Arkansas. The Hall of Trees marks the entrance to the Commons Center. The main corridor is an open, sun-lit space with three tree-like structures constructed of laminated wood and steel spaced down the center of the corridor. The Hall of Trees was designed to be in line with the live trees directly in front of the building. Registered as the first gold certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building in Arkansas, the Commons Center sets a new standard for environmentally friendly design.

Kansas City Zoo
Kansas, Missouri

Completed in May of 2007, The Endangered Species Carousel at the Kansas City Zoo has a dodecagon (12-sided polygon) Glulam Column & Rafter cover. The entry of the structure also features elegant Curved Glulam Beams. The universally accessible carousel features thirty-six figures and two stationary animal chariots that are ADA/Wheelchair accessible, one of which has a companion seat. Each figure represents an endangered species, a species featured at the zoo, or area mascots. These two distinct pieces of engineering, the carousel and the Glulam cover, blend seamlessly together the form one beautiful addition to the Kansas City Zoo.

Parker River National Wildlife Refuge
Newburyport, Massachusetts

With features in all of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) categories this 57,000 square foot complex encompasses a visitor center, administrative offices, and maintenance facility. The employment of materials and detailing including glulam trusses, beams and columns was intended to reduce energy consumption and maintenance while extending the life cycle of the building.
