About Us

Established in 1998, Gray Engineering and Design is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm located in London, Kentucky. Gray Engineering offers consulting engineering services in the fields of structural, civil and architectural engineering. Our founding engineer, the late Gary W. Gray, PE (a Clay County, Kentucky native), was active in the field of engineered timber and construction related consulting for 25 years and was recognized nationally for his expertise in the laminated and engineered wood timber industry. We continue our tradition of excellence with the addition of Don Lane Young, PE and Logan J Sams, EIT/Project Engineer.

Gray Engineering provides engineering services, construction management services, design services, site development oversight, shop drawings and calculations (using state-of-the-art computer software), and forensic investigations for a vast array of projects including: churches, residential projects, ampitheaters, bridges, office complexes, park and recreational facilities, retail projects, farm and ranch structures, medical complexes, and government projects. Project locations include our home state of Kentucky and more than 25 other states.

With experience comes knowledge, and Gray Engineering is recognized nationally for its expertise in the structural engineering and the heavy timber industry, as well as managing large construction projects. Our engineering staff have established a history of project versatility and expertise.
